Children’s Residential Worker

We’re delighted to support a market leader of therapeutic Children’s Residential Services recruit for a Residential Support Worker to join their beautiful 4 bed home in the Consett area. This is a lovely home set is a stunning rural location and furnished to a high standard, with a good atmosphere.
The company has a fantastic reputation for providing the highest levels of care to children who have experienced trauma and pride themselves on their supportive working culture. They have several homes and this is their longest established home in the North East. They are expanding on an ongoing basis. They aim wherever possible to promote from within and provide clear career progression so this is a great opportunity to develop for ambitious candidates. This organisations provide full training and support as well as psychologists to support the children and staff to provide a truly nurturing and therapeutic environment for children to thrive and grow.
Duties include
- Provide support for the children living in the home
- Building effective working relationships with the young people, other staff members, internal and external stakeholders
- Assisting with care planning and assessment
- Ensure all records are up to date
- Assist the children and young people with emotional support and with practical tasks
- Work on a shift pattern to ensure 24/7 cover including lates, earlies, sleep ins
You will have
- Previous Residential Support Work experience within a therapeutic Children’s Home setting
- NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
- Excellent communication skills
- Good administration skills
- Commitment to the highest levels of childcare practice
- Flexibility to work the variety of shifts required
- Full UK Driving License
